Lauren Wilson Young

Lauren Wilson Young serves as the executive director of the foundation. Lauren is also the granddaughter of Kemmons and Dorothy Wilson. She attended Vanderbilt University where she received a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and English and a Masters in Special Education.

Lauren married her high school sweetheart, Tommy Young, and together they have three children – Stuart, Wilson and Parker. They moved back to Memphis to be close to family and Lauren worked at Youth Villages as an Intercept Counselor.

She was hired as the Executive Director of the Kemmons Wilson Family Foundation in 2004 and has served in this position for over 10 years managing all of the activities of the family’s philanthropy.

Lauren serves as the Board Chair to JIFF (Juvenile Intervention and Faith-Based Follow Up) and also serves on the boards of Hope Christian Community Foundation and Baptist Memorial HealthCare Foundation. She currently serves as the chair of the Memphis Grantmakers Forum, a local funder membership organization convening conversations around philanthropy.
