We look for companies that meet all the criteria below and with our diverse operating history, we remain opportunistic to investing in businesses outside our seven key industries.

COMPANY

  • Profitable companies under $100 million in revenues
  • Significant, organic and/or acquisition growth potential
  • Leading market position with a defensible product or service that competes on more than price
  • Value-based employee culture with a customer and goal oriented focus

MARKET

  • Primarily Southeastern US but will consider anywhere in US
  • Industry neutral
  • Niche markets where the larger market participants are not as focused or cannot compete

OWNERSHIP / MANAGEMENT

  • Interested in the following investment-stage scenarios:
    • GROWTH investing to enable profitable, growing companies to fund internal growth and/or acquisitions
    • BUYOUTS where owners are looking to exit completely
    • RECAPITALIZATION providing partial liquidation of the owner’s equity position
  • Interested in acquiring a majority or meaningful minority ownership stake, with board involvement
  • A strong management team with a successful track record,
    and looking to retain a meaningful ownership stake
  • Situations where we are typically the first institutional investor

Chief Brand Officer

Rebecca Wilson Macsovits is the Chief Brand Officer of Kemmons Wilson Companies where she supports corporate and the portfolio companies in their efforts to refine their brand, build awareness, grow sales and strengthen their employee engagement programs.  She officially joined Kemmons Wilson Companies in 2013 as Regional Manager of KW Communities where she oversaw the completion of the active adult communities in Colorado.

In a prior life, Rebecca served as Director of Marketing at First Western Trust Bank where she was responsible for creating and managing the marketing and public relations programs including the development of collateral material, direct mail and a customized education curriculum for clients. In this role, she also oversaw First Western’s involvement in the community, including special events, corporate sponsorships and philanthropy. Across her time with the company, she managed the design and build-out of fourteen of the bank’s locations including the operations center and headquarters. Before joining First Western, she worked for Ambassadors International, a California-based meetings and incentives company where she developed and managed alternative incentive programs, produced financial performance reports and designed software. Dipping her toe in hospitality, Ms. Macsovits was a catering manager for Embassy Suites Hotel in Los Angeles, overseeing all aspects of business events and receptions held at the hotel.

She earned a Master’s of Business Administration in Finance and Operations from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Wake Forest University. Rebecca is married with three children and resides in the sunshine of Colorado. She sits on the board of Kemmons Wilson Insurance Group. Her community work involves Secretary of the Board for the Denver Zoo, Finance Chair for the Kemmons Wilson Family Foundation,  a member of Constellation, a philanthropic group focused on early childhood education in Colorado and organizes a team for the Step Up Walk for Down Syndrome. Rebecca also wrote a children’s book, Guion the Lion A Colorful World in the hopes of celebrating our differences as individuals.
